JIM PERRY
Jim Perry has reached a level of respect that few attain in the music business. A versatile musician, songwriter, singer and arranger, Jim has spent his entire adult life pursuing his passion for all things music. The 1970's were spent travelling around New England as the guitarist for the legendary rock band, Albatross. For the next ten years, Jim dabbled in many different aspects of music, including stints in Tornado Alley, The Reflectors, and his own original rock band, The Heartbeats. In between gigs, Perry became a prolific songwriter, and found time for some studio production.
A rock'n'roller at heart, Perry discovered a deep love of the blues in the mid 1990's while playing in a band with drummer Ron Ouimette. Perry proposed the idea for Hothouse in 1997 to Ron, and what began as a hobby turned into a CD, Melting Pot, which was released in 2001. After a few false starts and a three year hiatus, Ouimette and Perry revved up the band again, and Jim is as energetic as ever, penning new original tunes and leading the way for Hothouse, Version 2.
